SN2014J

Object: Supernova in M82- SN2014J.  In the constealltion Ursa Major

Chemical Components: The release of nuclear binding energy via explosive
burning of degenerate C and O is what fuels the explosion. This means it is composed primarily of Carbon and Oxygen.
Have specific Si line not seen in types Ib or Ic.
Contains no hydrogen.
A Type Ia supernova is determined by the synthesis in the explosion of
radioactive 56Ni, which decays via the chain 56Ni to 56Co to 56Fe releasing photons that power the observed light curve.

Location:  RA= 9h 55.8m, Dec= +69° 41

Spectrum analysis of most abundant chemical: Carbon
