Genus and Species: Taraxacum officinale


Habitat: Is an extremely common and persistent weed.  They are native to Eurasia and North America. Grow nearly everywhere; roadsides, ditches, yards, prairies, etc. 


Seasons: Recommended to harvest in early spring and late fall 


Active chemical ingredient: Caffeic acid

Uses: Snake bite, stomach ache, diuretic, bruising, heartburn, laxative, skin soothing. Made into a tea or tonic to treat internal ailments.
