Frontier Chemistry Project

1. Being able to identify a plant correctly is extremely important if you ever find yourself in a survival situation. If identified incorrectly, the result could be severe illness or even death.
2. Knowing information regarding plants in other regions is important due to the lack of constancy in location. For most people, they will not stay in one single region their entire life, so knowing information from places other than your own abode could provide awareness.
3. Travelling in different seasons would prove quite a difference. The majority of the plants identified in this blog bloom from spring-fall. If traveling in winter, your surroundings would appear very, very different.
4. It would be significant to develop a relationship with local people about their plant habitat to gain more knowledge of said plants. Experience and familiarity with plants can not be translated in textbooks, so oral wisdom could be acquired.
5. I would not trust my judgement when identifying local flora, even if I had a textbook. There are so many similar species with such different effects that there is ample room for error.
